Making HPLC Methods Work
A one-day short course in the practical application of reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) methods in routine analysis
This course is designed for laboratory workers who are responsible for running reversed-phase HPLC methods on a day-to-day basis. No prior experience is needed, although those with some laboratory experience will certainly benefit more than those with no experience at all. New workers in the lab, scientists from other disciplines that have to use HPLC as a tool, laboratory managers, and quality assurance staff will all benefit from this course.

CE Method Validation
Analytical scientists and technicians who are responsible for validating capillary electrophoresis methods. The course is also useful for managers and QA staff involved in the method validation process. For workers who develop, but do not validate methods, this course will give insight into how to develop methods that will be easier to validate. No prior CE experience is needed, although those with practical CE experience and those who attended the CE method development course will certainly benefit more than those with no experience at all.

An introduction to the use of LC-MS/MS, with an emphasis on the analysis of drugs in biological matrices.
This course is designed to provide basic knowledge and practical applications of LC-MS for liquid chromatographers. Most of the examples emphasize the most popular use of LC-MS/MS today: the analysis of drugs in metabolites in biological extracts. Although no previous experience with HPLC is necessary, the course will be especially valuable to those with some chromatography experience.

An Introduction to HPLC
This course is designed for beginners in liquid chromatography. No prior experience is needed, although those with some laboratory experience will certainly benefit more than those with no experience at all. New workers in the lab, scientists from other disciplines that have to use HPLC as a tool, laboratory managers, and quality assurance staff will all benefit from this course. This one-day class is an overview of HPLC and where it fits into the analytical chemistry process. It covers both hardware and the separation process. An introduction to the different modes of HPLC and most of the common detectors is included.

HPLC Troubleshooting: A Performance Qualification Approach
This course is designed for anyone who works with HPLC. No previous experience with HPLC systems is assumed; however, much of the course will appeal to the more experienced worker. "HPLC Troubleshooting: A Performance Qualification Approach" is an intensive one-day course that teaches you the ins and outs of solving problems that occur with your LC methods. You will learn how to qualify the performance of your HPLC using specific tests that also can be used for isolating existing problems. More importantly, you'll learn how to prevent many of these problems from happening in the first place.

Mass Spectrometry Principles and Practice
This intensive, five-day lecture/lab course is on mass spectrometry is co-sponsored by and presented at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. The lecture portion covers the basics of both LC/MS and GC/MS, including interpretation of mass spectra and practical advice on operation and maintenance of mass spectrometers. The laboratory is supported by the leading Mass Spec vendors especially for this class, affording each student the opportunity to have hands-on experience with state-of-the-art instrumentation. The experiments, however, are not “canned” demonstrations, but are real-life, practical exercises that reinforce the fundamental concepts presented in lecture. Students are assigned to three- to four-person group that they will work with throughout the week to complete homework problems, interpret experimental data, and prepare presentations.
“This is probably the best training I have ever been to. With the academic setting at the facility and the information that were presented, I can walk away with so much confidence in operating and interpretation of LC/MS and GC/MS.”

Advanced HPLC Method Development
If you've ever wished that HPLC method development were more logical and methodical, this is the course for you. Attendees should have at least one year of HPLC experience in the laboratory and at least some involvement in developing new methods or troubleshooting older ones. This course is for chromatographers who want to develop better methods faster and less expensively.
